Berret's Seafood Restaurant
Restaurants Seafood in VA
kimmarie.lewis@gmail.com
| The Seafood Restaurant has been voted by locals as “Best in Williamsburg” for over 10 years. We actively seek out the freshest in regional seafoods and produce. Our proximity to the York and James Rivers, Chesapeake Bay, and offshore Atlantic waters provide a variety of fresh seasonal catches: shad roe, softshell crabs and sea trout in the spring; flounder cobia, tuna, wahoo and bluefish in the summer; and rockfish, red fish and sea bass each fall. With the availability of local natural oysters and clams and the advent of aquaculture, we offer shellfish year-round. For the unfortunates who wish not to eat seafood, equal care is taken with our steaks, chops and poultry entrees. Children are welcome with special menus and in spirit as well.
Our full beverage service includes a newly expanded 80-bottle wine list with 20 wines by the glass, local micro-brews and full bar service.
The interior of the Seafood Restaurant reflects 20 years of collecting art, mainly local, in all forms from oils, watercolors, ceramic, natural and carved wood pieces and etched glass, with new art added regularly.

Black Olive - Greek
Restaurants Seafood in 814 S. Bond Street MD

The Black Olive Restaurant sits in quaint elegance on the cobblestone section of Bond Street in old Fells Point, and though the restaurant itself is only a few years old, the spirit from which it springs holds a story that stretches through multiple generations. The restaurant is owned by the Spiliadis family, whose passion for food as art is grounded in a basic aesthetic principle: cook your food with an eye towards simplicity and tradition, and use only the finest ingredients, no matter what it takes to find them. The story of the Black Olive begins in Northern Greece, over a century ago, when a family who for generations had been notorious for their good cooking and unabashed hospitality, made a trek to Istanbul, Turkey, where many Greeks were living and doing business. The family built a hotel and restaurant on the coast of the Black Sea, and the business bloomed. The stories of those days, at the turn of the century, are still conjured up at family gatherings, and one can imagine the bustling city of Istanbul, a crossroads of culture and history, the busy hotel and restaurant, the sea, the smells, the laughter and shouts echoing. One story tells of how the sea became rough one day, as a storm approached, and as the waves became higher and higher, fish suddenly began to be hurled onto the beach by powerful waves. Everyone rushed down to the beach gathering as many fish as they could hold, carried them up to the hotel (for it was common knowledge that no one could prepare a fish better) and commenced with a feast and celebration that lasted for days.

Bonefish Grille
Restaurants Seafood in 6711 Ritchie Hwy MD
410-553-0299
Bonefish Grill is a polished casual seafood restaurant founded in St. Petersburg, Florida in January 2000. Veteran restauranteurs Tim Curci and Chris Parker had a vision for a dining experience based on simplicity and consistency, and a commitment to excellence on every level. They also dreamt of a place that would take the mystery out of fish, would tell their guests where the fish came from, how best to eat it, and how to experiment with the fun sauces they created to go with the fish. Today, Bonefish Grill is widely recognized as the people who know fresh fish. Our fish is flown in and received fresh every morning, inspected for quality and then cut and weighed by hand.

Obrycki's is located on land that was part of the original William Fell estate, in the area known as historic Fells Point. The corner building at 1729 East Pratt Street was built in 1851 and the adjoining building was built the following year. A gentleman named Charly Wedig opend a tavern at the original site in 1865 where soldiers quartered at the Union Camp of the 7th Maine Regiment at Patterson Park occasionally stopped in for a beer at the end of a long day. From 1866 until Prohibition in 1920, there were several different tavern owners, the most notable being George Gunther of the Gunther Brewing Company. In 1944, Melvin Alexander purchased the property, and together with his brothers-in-law, Mitch, Joe, and Eddie Obrycki, ran a bar operation. Eventually, they decided to expand their business by serving food, featuring the delectable Maryland blue crab. At that point, Obrycki's became a restaurant.

Phillips - OC
Restaurants Seafood in 1301 Atlantic Avenue MD
410-289-9121
The Phillips family started in the seafood business along Maryland's Chesapeake Bay around the turn of the century with the A. E. Phillips & Son processing plant. In 1956, Brice and Shirley Phillips, along with their sons Steve and Jeffery, moved to Ocean City, Maryland. They opened a small carryout restaurant called Phillips Crab House as a way of selling excess crabs from their family's plant. Business grew quickly and the once small carryout grew into a two-story restaurant seating 1400. In 1973, the Phillips opened their second location on Ocean City's boardwalk. Phillips Beach Plaza Hotel and Phillips By The Sea Restaurant. In 1977, they opened the doors to Phillips Seafood House at 141st Street in north Ocean City. The association with the people of Baltimore, Maryland as they vacationed in Ocean City, made Baltimore an ideal location for expansion. They held the grand opening of Phillips Harborplace on July 2, 1980, and it has been the toast of the town ever since. In December of 1985, Phillips Flagship on the SW waterfront of Washington, DC opened.
